History

George & Marilyn Daigneault
George & Marilyn Daigneault
DCI/LAO CEO and Founder

Daigneault Communications Inc. was established in 1990. The founder and president of Daigneault Communications, better known today as DCI, is George A. Daigneault. George retired from his position within Motorola, Inc. in 1989 after twenty-four years of employment. Within a year, Daigneault Communications Inc. was created from the basement office of George’s home in Thurmont, Maryland. His original staff consisted of his wife Marilyn and their son Joseph Daigneault. As a team, George possessed the knowledge and experience of the radio communications business, Marilyn provided all administrative duties and, with his self-taught computer skills, Joe was in charge of operations. It proved to be a successful endeavor and before long they were searching for an additional employee and a downtown office space.

The location selected was in the center of Thurmont, MD above the bank. Perfect! As business grew, so did the number of employees. In the early 1990’s, Daigneault Communications found they were growing much faster than even they had anticipated. George managed to bring in several major accounts, an existing two-way radio licensing service was purchased and the dealer portion of the Motorola Government Relations Office in Gettysburg, PA was transferred to Daigneault Communications—dealers and all. With the massive amount of license applications now being received, it was time to incorporate a sister office, still known today as the Licensing Assistance Office or LAO.

Once again the decision was made to relocate. This time, the move was made to Gettysburg, PA. Not only did Daigneault Communications/LAO move to Gettysburg, but their new office was in the same building complex as the Federal Communications Commission. Access to the FCC was an important factor, as this made it convenient to visit with engineers, bureau chiefs and processors when faced with problems, questions and regulatory issues. LAO worked very closely with the FCC and developed many beneficial contacts within the Commission. This has proven to be a valuable asset to their customers and dealers nationwide.

Daigneault Communications, Inc. (DCI), and the Licensing Assistance Office (LAO) challenged the "old school" of thought and became actively involved with frequency coordination assistance. Together through an alliance, two experienced and qualified organizations entered into a subcontract arrangement which allows LAO to perform the technical support service in the coordination process for Industrial/Business eligibles. LAO is experienced in all aspects of Part 90 licensing and thoroughly understands coordination issues. LAO developed this arrangement to ensure their customers receive the quickest, most accurate coordination possible. It has proven to be a fine match. Knowing LAO is a well-established, affordable and reputable FCC licensing and coordination assistance organization, we invite you to give us a try. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our website and to contact any one of our representatives with comments or questions.
