New Bureau Chiefs

FCC Chairman Kevin J. Martin has named Fred Campbell as Chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Catherine Seidel as Chief of the Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau.

Fred Campbell most recently served as Chairman Martin’s Legal Advisor for wireless issues and previously served as an Attorney Advisor in the Wireless Competition Bureau.

Catherine Seidel was Acting Chief of Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) since April of 2005. Ms Seidel has also served as a Deputy Bureau Chief and Chief of Staff for the WTB.

The FCC announced the launch of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau in September of 2006. This Bureau is organized into three divisions: Policy Division, Public Communications Outreach & Operations Division and Communications Systems Analysis Division.

The Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau is designed to provide an efficient, effective and responsive organizational structure to address matters related to public safety, homeland security, and emergency management and preparedness. The Bureau is responsible for the combined public safety-related functions that were previously dispersed among the other bureaus and offices.
