The Ocean
The Ocean ~ a never-ending source for all the succulent seafood we harvest and consume. It’s always there — in constant supply. Or is it?
We don’t think twice about piling our plates high with all the rich delights on all-you-can-eat seafood buffets. And when you have your heart set on a good lobster dinner, you expect your favorite seafood restaurant to offer it on the menu. But what if they don’t? What if we have consumed and abused this natural gift to the point of extinction?
Radio frequencies should be thought of in much the same manner. You have the location, you have the equipment and you have the money — however, without an acceptable frequency, you still do not have a usable system. The equipment is only as good as the frequencies on which it operates. What if we have consumed and abused this natural gift to the point of extinction?
Have we? No. Not yet. However, there is no magic solution. It is up to each one of us, the consumer, to preserve these valuable resources. We cannot live with polluted water ways or polluted air ways.
Do your part.
Obtain and maintain a valid FCC radio license and operate only within the authorized parameters of your license. Comply with power, antenna height and area of operation restrictions, work towards narrowband emissions and remembr what you learned in kindergarten about sharing — considering most systems exist in a shared spectrum environment.
After all, there is nothing worse than the taste of bad seafood
or the sound of congested frequencies.
