Termination of Unconstructed Licenses

The Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) is set to implement their automated feature in ULS that will identify unconstructed stations and eventually lead to the automatic termination of said licenses. The FCC’s ULS Automated Termination process will begin on February 1, 2006 as per Public Notice DA 05-3143 (12-20-05).

The FCC is reminding licensees to file their construction notifications or requests for extension of the construction deadline within a timely manner. Those licensees who have constructed their systems within their allotted time period, but who did not submit a construction notification to the FCC, are encouraged to submit an FCC Form 601 & Schedule K along with a waiver request. All licensees are being urged to review and; if necessary, update the administrative information on their license(s). i.e.—mailing address, contact information, telephone number and email address.

The FCC will be releasing another public notice in the near future in which they will provide a step-by-step description of how their automated termination feature will operate.

DCI/LAO can assist you with the filing of the FCC Form 601 for a construction notification (Schedule K); with or without a waiver request, or for an administrative update. Contact our office for more information.
